Pickyourtrail, Go Homestays, And More Indian Travel Brands Cut Ties With Turkiye And Azerbaijan Amid Rising Diplomatic Tensions

As the tension between India and Pakistan rises, several Indian travel brands have announced the discontinuation of their partnerships with Azerbaijan and Turkiye. Their support for Pakistan during this difficult time prompted this decision. The diplomatic situation has created a trend for boycotting travel to Turkiye and Azerbaijan on social media platforms. Several well-known Indian brands have joined the movement to express solidarity with India.

Indian Travel Brands End Partnerships With Turkiye

Go Homestays, an Indian travel accommodation brand, has announced cutting ties with Turkish Airlines and officially ending its partnership. They specified that, due to the country’s unsupportive stance towards India during this period, they would no longer include their flights in their international travel packages. The company’s declaration on X (formerly Twitter) stirred a conversation about the importance of standing with the country, as some called it an example of ‘brand patriotism.’

Goa Villas, a platform that offers luxury holiday rentals in Goa, also took a public stand and declared that it would no longer provide services to Turkish nationals in Goa. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), they have clarified their position during the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.

Pickyourtrail, a curated international travel planning service, has paused all new bookings and itinerary planning to Turkiye and Azerbaijan. Hari Ganpathi, the co-founder of Pickyourtrail, stated, “At Pickyourtrail, we do more than plan holidays — we enable journeys that matter. In light of recent events, we’ve decided to pause all new bookings to Turkiye and Azerbaijan. This is not a comment on the people but a stance against policies that conflict with India’s national interest. As an Indian travel company, our first duty is to the Indian traveller. JaiHind.” This decision certainly sheds light on the impact of international geopolitics on the travel industry.

Several Indian travel brands are currently reconsidering their association with Turkiye and Azerbaijan. Their statements reflect their consideration for geopolitical tensions. For now, travellers must stay informed about the latest updates from the government and travel agencies.
