UAE-ites are all set to celebrate their 49th National Day with a long weekend. While everyone is celebrating this special day in their way, things still have mellowed down a bit amid the covid-19 pandemic. However, emiratis still have a lot to choose from. For Abu Dhabi-ites, enjoy a fun vibe at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival. Enjoy performances, food, arts and varied special programmes to celebrate the National Day. Well, that’s not it, you can now also enjoy displays, camel races and fireworks. Festivities begin from 4 pm on Wednesday, December 2.

Dubai Festival City Mall
Dubai Festival City Mall is all set to entertain people with a special Arabic-themed Imagine light show and two firework displays, as well as a family entertainment programme. And for the first time, restaurants around the water’s edge will be offering seats directly on the promenade, with socially distanced front-row seats to the fireworks, which will take place at 9 pm and 11 pm. There will be two seating timings, from 7 pm to 9 15 pm, and from 9 30 pm to 11 30 pm. Restaurants include Al Fanar, Chili’s, Peppermill, Famous Dave’s, Five Guys, Nando’s, Semsom, Turkish Village, Joe’s Crab Shack and the InterContinental Dubai – Festival City.

The Palm Fountain
Palm Fountain is known to celebrate all the festivities with grandeur, and now after celebrating Diwali on a grand scale, the Palm is all set to captivate you for the 49th National Day. There will be fireworks, alongside a special fountain and light show. The show, by Emirati composer Ihab Darwish, will include a live orchestra and is inspired by the spirit of Dubai. The fireworks will take place at 9 pm.
La Mer
La Mer is all set to host dazzling fireworks on the 2nd of December from 9 am to 11 pm. Well that’s not it, also stand a chance to win a one-night staycation at the newly opened Rove La Mer Beach.
