If you are a pet lover, you will surely understand how hard it is to leave your pet at a friend’s place and travel. Well why then? Even your little source of happiness, your pet has the right to travel. I know planning road trips is a task and when you have pets accompanied for the same, it can be worrisome. Here are some tips for a hassle free fun road trip with your pet.
1. Health Check up
It is mandatory for your pet to be in good health before you embark on a journey with it. So always make it a point to take your pet to its vet and get a thorough check up done before the road trip. You can also ask for any precautionary tips from the vet to make sure your pet is fit throughout. Make sure to carry medicines if needed like in a pet safety kit for your pet.
2. Comfort In The Car
Make sure you prioritize the comfort and security of your pet in the car while on a road trip. If your pet is small, make sure to bring in baskets or carriers to place them in it. This will keep it safe all the time. Making them sit on your lap will not actually be a good idea. If your pet is big, it will obviously have its own seat. If you fear them jumping out, tie their harnesses to the seat or seat belt.

3. Portable Cups And Bowls
Make sure to bring in portable bowls and cups with you in order to feed your pets while you are on a road trip with them. Portable bowls and cups are very handy and don’t take up much space in your bag. Having them on board is very much necessary because your pet might feel thirsty or hungry at any time especially when his environment is changing.
4. Check Accommodation
This step comes in when you are planning the road trip with your pet. When you book any hotel or cottage according to your preferences, make sure you check that they are pet friendly or not. If you have more than one pet make sure to know if the hotel allows more than one pet. You can simply call up the manager and know it all from them beforehand to avoid future issues.
