Now, what makes Bade Hanuman Temple In Prayagraj so unique? Well, to start with, unlike most temples, the Hanuman idol here is not in a sitting or standing position. It is in a unique lying position and it is believed that it is the only temple in the world where Bajrangbali is in a lying down position below the ground. The temple is located near the banks of the Ganga and Yamuna Rivers in Prayagraj near Sangam and Fort. Locals often refer to the deity here as Bade Hanuman Ji, Kila Wale Hanuman Ji, Lete Hanuman Ji, and Bandh Wale Hanuman Ji.

According to the Navbharat Times, the idol here is about 20 feet tall and at least 6-7 feet below ground level. It is believed that Kamada Devi is pressed under his left foot and Ahiravan is pressed under his right foot. Furthermore, he is holding Ram and Laxman in his right hand and a mace in his left hand.
