Portions Of Bundelkhand Expressway Crack Down 5 Days After Inauguration

Just a week after the Bundelkhand expressway was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, portions of it have cracked down. According to a PTI report, UP Expressway Industrial Authority spokesperson Durgesh Upadhyay claimed that the 296-km-long stretch of road developed deep potholes due to heavy rains. However, the cracks have given the Opposition parties and Congress an opportunity to criticize the Government. Viral videos of the cracked portions of the Bundelkhand Expressway are quickly gaining attention. People are taken by shock to see that the expressway that was inaugurated by PM Modi on July 16, has already cracked down in portions.

A Team With Bulldozers Repaired The Stretch Instantly But The Public Is Still Curious

The recent crackdown of the Bundelkhand Expressway in portions has led the public to question the credibility of the government. A lot of people including Piyush Rai and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, have taken to Twitter to share videos of the Expressway. The videos reveal that parts of the highway has caved in almost one-and-a-half-foot-deep.
” The portion of the road developed one-and-a-half-foot-deep potholes due to rains at Chhiriya Salempur in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district on Wednesday night,” UP Expressway Industrial Authority spokesperson Durgesh Upadhyay revealed as per a PTI report. The spokesperson also said that as soon as the potholes were spotted, a team with bulldozers and necessary equipment repaired the stretch and opened it for traffic.

Cracks In The Bundelkhand Expressway Has Called In A Lot Of Criticism

The Bundelkhand Expressway has been getting criticized since the day of its inauguration. On July 16, the Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav attacked the Yogi Adityanath government alleging them of inaugurating a half-finished project. And after the recent crack downs of the Expressway, the UP Congress also targeted the BJP government on Twitter of not living upto their promises of pothole-free roads. Bundelkhand Expressway has gotten cracks in portions, just after four days of inauguration. The expressway took about 28 months to be completed. The foundation stone for the same was laid by PM Modi on February 29, 2020, who later inaugurated it on July 16.
