President Droupadi Murmu visited the famous Puri Beach in Odisha. She took to X (formerly Twitter) to share about her visit along with a series of pictures walking around the beautiful beach. She called her visit a “meditative experience” and said she felt similar “inner peace during the darshan of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannathji.”

President Murmu posted a series of tweets reflecting on nature and the need to protect it amid rising global warming concerns. In her post, she said that we often “lose connection with Mother Nature” and exploit it for “short-term benefits.” She then went on to talk about the extreme weather conditions that India experienced during this summer and how many parts suffered a terrible series of heatwaves.
Highlighting the extreme weather events across the world in recent years, President Droupadi Murmu mentioned global warming and how it is threatening our future. She has urged people to take “smaller, local steps” to help nature for a better tomorrow for ourselves and our future generations.

President Takes Part In Jagannath Rath Yatra 2024
President Droupadi Murmu is in Odisha to be part of the Jagannath Ratha Yatra 2024. To ensure her visit goes smoothly, Odisha has declared a two-day public holiday on July 7 and 8 for the Rath Yatra. The President took part in the rath pulling event and shared about the whole experience on X (formerly Twitter).

Talking about the experience, she said, “For me, it was one of those blessed moments that made us aware of the presence of the Supreme Being. May there be peace and prosperity around the world by the grace of Mahaprabhu Jagannath!”
