Priyanka Chopra Visits Poland To Spend Time With Ukrainian Refugees And Kids

Priyanka Chopra flew to Poland very recently to meet the refugees of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. She is working with UNICEF for quite some time now and in fact, she is a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. Also, she shared some snippets of her interaction with the refugee kids and women in care under the ‘Unbreakable Ukraine’ programme. This programme is by UNICEF and many such foundations.

PeeCee took to her official Instagram account to share some snippets and montages of her talking and playing with the Ukrainian refugees. She played with the kids, had some fun conversations with them, and indulged in painting and so many activities. The global icon also had a conversation with the women about their experiences of this whole situation. Priyanka got emotional while talking to a woman whose family could not cross the border into Poland. PeeCee uploaded the video with a long heartfelt caption that read, ‘The invisible wounds of war are the ones we don’t usually see on the news. Yet, they were so evident to me today as started day 1 of my @unicef mission in Warsaw. 2/3 of Children from Ukraine have been displaced (internally and externally). This HUGE number is the devastating reality of a war where 90% of the people crossing the border are women and children.

She continued the caption, ‘70% of those who have fled, crossed the border into Poland, and large government supported Reception Centres have been set up to make the transition as easy as possible.’
