The Pune City Traffic Department has advised that for the next 11 days, the Pune-Bangalore Highway at Chandni Chowk will be closed to traffic for three hours each day. It has been decided to celebrate the ongoing road construction at Chandni Chowk.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), according to officials, would install girders at Chandni Chowk. For the duration of July 4 to July 15, traffic on this section of the Pune-Bangalore Highway will be restricted between 12:30 am and 3:30 am in order to continue construction work.

All heavy trucks would be stopped at the Pune-Mumbai Motorway, Talegaon Toll Plaza, Somatne Phata, and Old Pune-Mumbai Highway during these three hours of restriction. Additionally, big vehicles travelling from Satara to Mumbai would be stopped close to the Khed Shivapur Toll Plaza.

The movement of heavy vehicles will continue to be fully prohibited on the expressway. However, light vehicle traffic can use the Ved Bhavan service road to continue their journey. People who want to access the city from there can use Ramp Number 6 and go into Warje from there.

Officials claim that the project is in its last stages and that about 95 per cent of the ongoing work at Chandni Chowk has already been finished. A traffic detour is required since the substructure and superstructure work on the new Pashan major bridge (Vehicular Overpass) are both still in progress.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Pune’s district collector, Rajesh Deshmukh, stated the details of this construction work. Moreover, he had a meeting with the officials earlier and discussed traffic diversions for the convenience of the citizens.
