Travelling by train is probably the cheapest as well as the quickest way to travel in a city. Especially in Pune, where autorickshaw walas charge a bomb even for short distances. If you live in Pune and travel between Pune and Daund, your travel is all set to be more efficient.

According to an article recently published in Punekar News, Naresh Lalwani, who is the General Manager of Central Railways, passed a directive that will make the trains on the Pune-Daund route faster than before.

He directed to boost the speed of the trains to 130 kilometres per hour. Up until now, the speed of the train was 110 kilometres per hour, according to a Hindustan Times article. This boost in speed will mean that the travel time will be cut down by 10 minutes between the two destinations.

Will Come Into Effect From Tomorrow

According to the Punekar News article, this directive for increased speed of the train will come into effect on the 28th of August, Monday. This particular decision was taken after the track’s capacity was recently enhanced. Manoj Arora, who is the Chief Safety Commissioner, evaluated the train tracks and gave his input to the Pune Railway Administration.

This increased speed directive will be first implemented selectively and will slowly apply to all the other trains that regularly traverse the route. This progress was also confirmed by the Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Brijesh Kumar Singh.

The route was also personally assessed by the General Manager, Naresh Lalwani.
