Rama Ekadashi Tithi begins at 8:23 am on November 08 and will end at 10:41 am on November 09.

Being a follower of Lord Vishnu, King Muchukunda urged everyone to observe the Rama Ekadashi fast. Chandrabhaga, his daughter, has observed the fast since she was a young child. Chandrabhaga and Shobana were once part of King Muchukunda’s realm.

Shobana’s wife urged him to go since he was not feeling well. He continued to fast, but he perished from hunger and thirst. On Mandrachala Mountain, a kingdom was bestowed upon him. When a Muchukunda Brahmin saw Shobana’s kingdom, he requested that it be established permanently.

With her divine powers, Chandrabhaga transformed the transient kingdom into a permanent one, bringing them back together to live a beautiful and divine life. The narrative emphasizes how crucial fasting and fast observation are to spiritual development.

The most significant custom is keeping a fast, which begins the night before “Dashami.” The devotee must abstain from eating anything heavy or spicy on Dashami as well. However, they are only allowed to eat “satvik” food during the day and only right before dusk.

On Rama Ekadashi, those who observe a fast are supposed to rise early, worship Lord Vishnu all day, take a bath in a river, or at the very least mix a few drops of Gau Mutra, Gangajal, or rose water.

You must also keep fruits and flowers, and you should ignite incense sticks and dhoop. In the evening, aarti is performed, and then every member of the family gets the prasadam.

Those who are unable to fast on Rama Ekadashi should make sure they avoid eating any non-vegetarian cuisine or rice dishes. On this day, those who follow the fast are required to refrain from eating anything. They might only be able to eat organic and vegetarian food, though, if that is not feasible. During puja, devotees must add turmeric to basil leaves and present them to the Lord. One must also refrain from using hing while making any dish on this day.
