Ramadan 2023: RTA Announces Bridge Closures & Opening Of Two New Projects In Dubai

Dubai RTA makes sure to inform the citizens and residents about every road and safety-related update. The recent news was about bridge closures and openings in the Emirates. The Al Maktoum bridge is to face temporary partial closure for the remainder of Ramadan. Two new bridge openings will take place in Dubai as per RTA. Let’s check out the deets on these bridge updates.

Al Maktoum Partial Bridge Closure For Ramadan

RTA recently updated its Twitter with the news of the Al Maktoum bridge closure. The department hasn’t stated any reason behind the closure yet. But the dates specified for the closure start from 30th March and will continue until the last of Ramadan.

The temporary partial closure of the specified bridge will run from 1 am to 6 am for 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday. Thinking about how to travel during this closure? Well, you can take an abra to commute for the specified period. If not then you can divert your route with other bridges like Al Garhoud Bridge, Business Bay Bridge, and The Infinity Bridge.

Dubai RTA Announces Opening Of Two New Bridges

The opening of two significant bridges and a tunnel was announced by Dubai RTA on Sunday. The project is called Falcon Interchange Improvement Project. It is situated between Al Khaleej Street, Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road, and Al Ghubaiba Road. The total length of the project is 2,325 metres and has a combined carrying capacity of 27,200 vehicles per hour.

Emiratis can anticipate a new bridge that will connect from the southern side and the northern side by the Infinity Bridge and the Al Shindagha Tunnel. The third bridge will form at the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street. The third bridge will act as a single-lane ramp that will be built for right turns from Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road to Al Khaleej Street.
