Remember the Laxmi Chit Fund incident from Phir Hera Pheri? Gone are those days when people defrauded and scammed others by taking money from them and not returning later. With the advancement of technology and online payment options, we often hear about money-related scams, probably every other day. Recently, a Reddit user talked about getting scammed on LazyPay for a hefty amount.

This person shared a horrible incident of falling into a scamming trap and losing about ₹11,000 from the account. As shared in the post, someone logged into this person’s Swiggy account and used it to place F&B orders. The account was linked to LazyPay and the scamster ordered food for around ₹11,000. While doing all these horrible things, the fraudster also logged out the innocent user from the Swiggy account by changing the number on the app.
Right after realising the fraud, the Reddit user reported the incident with Cybercrime. As a result, an investigation is in process. Sharing the frightening situation, the person also asked other Reddit users if they had ever come across a similar scam.
Many of us cannot imagine our lives without using these pay-later options such as LazyPay. Using these platforms is so convenient and also makes our lives a lot easier by simply linking the account with suitable applications and then paying just by a single click on the mobile screens. While it has made the online shopping process simpler, it has also increased the chances of such cheating and duping.
