The 75th Republic Day of India is almost here! The Airports Authority of India or AAI has issued additional rules and guidelines that all passengers travelling via planes on January 26 should keep in mind. New restrictions for hand luggage as well as check-in luggage have also been put in place owing to the big day. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about the new airport rules.

Republic Day Airport Advisories: New Rules To Know

According to an article which was recently published by livemint, these travel restrictions and baggage rules will be applicable at all airports throughout the country. Passengers are not allowed to carry items like talcum powder, powdered spices, masalas, and lighters.

In addition to this, passengers are also prohibited from carrying toys that look like weapons in their carry-on luggage. When it comes to hand baggage, items like scissors, nail cutters as well as other sharp objects should be avoided.

Even liquids are to be avoided for hand baggage. For check-in luggage, items like power banks and lighters are not allowed. It is imperative that these rules are taken heed of and followed by all passengers on Republic Day to ensure a smooth travel experience.

Other Important Details That You Should About The Rules

The AAI has also issued some tips for the passengers to ensure that their travel is as smooth as possible. They advised that the passengers should keep their travel documents in hand luggage for ease of access.

This is also because, on January 26, document checks will be done at random at any point in the airport. In addition to these tips, the AAI also recommends that the passengers travelling on January 26 should pack light and carry only what is essential for them.
