Maharashtra has seen a steep surge in cases in the last two months which forced the government to impose a lockdown all across the state. Malls, multiplexes, and restaurants will soon reopen at 50% capacity in Maharashtra. Shops and establishments will also get extended hours of operation. The government of Maharashtra has allowed malls and shopping centers to reopen in Mumbai including Thane and Navi Mumbai and start their operations with certain restrictions. The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), has allowed malls in Mumbai.
Those below 18 years of age and are not vaccinated against the virus will be allowed to enter malls in Maharashtra. However, all adults will need to show proof of two doses of vaccination. Malls in Mumbai stayed shut two days after reopening due to a new rule by the state government. The government made it mandatory for all the employees and staff members to be fully vaccinated, having completed 14 days after the second dose.
Maharashtra is looking at easing relaxations in 25 districts, including Mumbai. A formal order on the partial lifting of curbs will be issued in a couple of days. The government had planned a five-step unlock plan from June 7. The unlock in the state will happen in five levels based on positivity rate and oxygen bed occupancies.
Districts In Level 1 To Unlock Fully Without Restrictions
In the first level, districts with less than a 5% positivity rate and below 25% oxygen bed occupancy will be allowed to unlock fully without restrictions. 18 districts come under level 1. All restaurants, malls, salons, movie theatres, shops can open in districts in Mumbai.
