Ramadan is currently underway, and with the month of self-reflection and celebration here, people are truly enjoying their time with the family. As a result, several changes have been made by the authorities. In fact, across the UAE, paid public parking hours have been adjusted for Ramadan. While there are some who have increased the duration of parking periods, there are others who have increased the timings for paid parking instead. Here’s all you need to know about this Ramadan-related development across the UAE.

Authorities have reminded motorists that traffic accidents have increased during the holy month, especially during the pre-Iftar hours. As a result, drivers have been advised to be extra careful during this time, as reported by Khaleej Times. Take a look at the changes in paid parking systems in the emirates of Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ajman.

In Dubai, paid parking hours have been divided into two periods as follows. This is from Monday to Saturday, and it has been done taking the needs of motorists into consideration. Yes, parking charges will be applied from 8 AM to 6 PM and 8 PM to 12 PM. The parking will be free between 6 PM and 12 8 PM and on Sundays. In fact, the multilevel parking building will be operational throughout the day.

In Sharjah, extended paid parking timings have been announced. This means motorists will be charged for parking from 8 AM to 12 AM. This is two extra hours, as compared to the usual between 8 AM to 10 PM. Additionally, parking will remain free on Fridays, as usual.

Changes In Abu Dhabi And Ajman

Similarly, in Ajman, paid parking has been split into two periods from Saturday to Thursday. This means that paid parking will be applicable from 9 AM to 1 PM and from 8 PM to 12 PM. The duration between 1 PM to 8 PM will be free.

Coming to Abu Dhabi, paid parking hours continue to remain unchanged. This means the Mawaqif timings will remain unchanged from 8 AM to 12 PM. Moreover, Darb, which are the toll gate hours, will change. Yes, from Monday to Saturday, motorists will be charged during the morning peak hours. This will be from 8 AM to 10 AM and during the evening peak hours from 2 PM to 4 PM. In fact, the tollgate systems will also continue to remain free on Sundays.
