Rotana’s New 258-Key Mangrove Retreat Set To Elevate Ras Al Khaimah Tourism

Ras Al Khaimah is getting another big hotel project, but this one seems to be leaning heavily into the whole waterfront wedding and events scene. And honestly, that part makes sense. The emirate has been pulling in more tourists lately, especially people looking for quieter beach stays that still feel a bit upscale without the Dubai chaos. The upcoming Rotana Ras Al Khaimah – The Mangroves is being built beside the mangroves and will have 258 rooms.

New Waterfront Hotel In RAK Plans Mangrove Weddings & Large Events

The idea is pretty simple, really: mix nature views with modern hotel comforts and give people enough space to host everything from business meetings to huge weddings.

The hotel is planning outdoor ceremony spaces facing the mangroves, along with indoor venues for larger gatherings. There’s also going to be one of the biggest pillar-free ballrooms in Ras Al Khaimah, which matters more than people think. Nobody wants a giant column sitting in the middle of wedding photos.

Couples Looking For Waterfront Weddings Might Like This

For many couples in the UAE, destination weddings inside the country are becoming more common now. Less travel stress. Easier for the family. Also easier on budgets compared to flying everyone abroad.

The hotel says it’ll have dedicated bridal facilities and planners to help organise weddings. So clearly they’re going after that luxury wedding crowd without making it feel too over-the-top.

Business Travellers Are Part Of The Plan Too

The property will also have 10 meeting rooms, and six of them are supposed to get natural daylight with views of the mangroves. That sounds like a small detail, but anyone who has sat through an eight-hour conference inside a dark hotel room knows why it matters.

There’ll also be outdoor event areas near the water for dinners, launches and social gatherings. Ras Al Khaimah has been pushing harder into conferences and corporate events recently, and hotels like this are clearly part of that bigger picture.

Guests Will Probably Spend Most Time Outdoors

There’ll be pools for adults and kids, a fitness centre, sauna, steam rooms, a jacuzzi and massage facilities. Also, squash courts, tennis courts, beach volleyball and water sports.

That said, the mangrove setting itself may end up being the main attraction. A lot of visitors head to Ras Al Khaimah specifically because it feels calmer and less crowded compared to other parts of the UAE. Families are being factored in too, with separate indoor and outdoor play areas for children.

And for food, the hotel plans to open Terra Restaurant, which will serve Mediterranean-style dishes throughout the day.

RAK’s hotel scene keeps growing fast, and this project feels like another sign the emirate wants to compete for more than just weekend beach stays now.
