Travelling in a metro can make life easier as you end up foregoing all the traffic that you may generally encounter while travelling on the road. Although, as timesaving as this mode of transport happens to be, some people don’t live in proximity to metro stations. As a result, they often have to take metro Link buses. For those who frequently travel with these link buses, they are in for good news, as Dubai Roads & Transport Authority is launching three new metro link bus routes in Dubai. Here’s all you need to know about these upcoming bus routes and the developments on other existing routes.
3 New Metro Link Bus Routes
Additionally, several improvements will be implemented on existing routes on the same date.

Yes, RTA took to their official Twitter handle account to announce that they will be launching three new metro link bus routes in Dubai on May 19, which is a Friday. This step has been taken to expand the reach of the local bus network and improve the integration with other mass transit means, namely the metro. It’s worth mentioning that some improvements will also be introduced to the existing routes starting from the same date. The three new routes include –
- Route 51 will ply between Al Khail Gate and Business Bay Metro Station. This will take about 20 minutes during peak hours.
- Route SH1 will cover the Dubai Mall Metro Station and Sobha Realty Metro Station during the peak hours, this frequency will be of 60 minutes.
- Route YM1 will shuttle between UAE Exchange Metro Station and Yiwu Market and will take about 60 minutes during peak hours.

What Are The Improvements On Existing Routes?
It should be mentioned that the RTA is also modifying existing routes in Dubai to improve transit. These improvements will be made to the following routes –
- There will be modification to the path of Route F47, by terminating at the Dubai Investment Park Metro Station.
- F51, F50, F48, and F46 should be used by those travelling to Dubai Investments Park.
- Now, Route 50 will end at Business Bay Metro Station.
- Passengers should opt for Route 51 in order to travel to Al Khail Gate.
- Al Mamzar Beach Park bus stop to serve additional residential areas will be included in Route C15.
- Route E102 is to be extended to Al Jaffiliya Bus Station, meaning the service will be between CBD and Abu Dhabi Airport.
As it happens, the journey time improvements will be made on these routes – 91, 84, 81, 77, 67, 66, 64, 62, 61, 53, 51, 50, 29, 24, 22, 21, 17, 13, 8, 91A, C04, 7C09, C15, C28, D03, E700, F01, F05, F06, F08, F10, F21, F26, F27, F30, F36, F47, F57, J01, N55, X02, X13, X22, X23, X28, X25, and X64.
