Sagar Bhatia Is A Talented Cook; Shares A Quick Rajma Hack!

Can qawwali and food go together? Of course, it can if it’s with Sagar Bhatia on Curly Tales’s Tere Gully Mein show! The talented qawwali singer and musician Sagar Bhatia joined us for a food trail along Delhi’s Jamnapaar where we gorged on kebabs, tangy chole kulche and lapped up ice creams and sundaes over musical conversations. In fact, Sagar not just admitted to being a talented cook but even graciously extended a rajma hack exclusively with us.

Sagar Bhatia Shares An Expert Rajma Hack

After strolling around Delhi’s buzzing streets of Jamnapaar for a while, we headed to Gola Sizzlers with Sagar Bhatia. As we waited for our order, we asked Bhatia if he knew how to cook apart from being a passionate foodie. The singer immediately replied that he can cook many dishes and graciously asked us what we like to eat. He also offered to tell us the dishes he specialises in. That pretty much gave us a hint that he seemed to be a talented cook.

He specialises in the North Indian classic, Rajma-Chawal. The best part is that the qawwali veteran has a special technique that doesn’t require overnight soaking of the pulses. Sagar Bhatia graciously gave an expert tip for all Curly Tales’s followers. He revealed that you need to first wash the rajma. Then, pressure cook it in water for one whistle. Next, submerge the rajma in lots of ice cubes. Finally, pressure cook this rajma for five to six whistles and you’re rajma would be ready.
