But just when you thought you’d seen it all, here comes a cocktail that truly pushes the boundaries: the Salmontini. Yes, you read that right; it is a martini infused with salmon. Sounds bizarre? Instagram content creator Eitan Bernath recently shook the cocktail world by crafting this fishy concoction. Here’s how he did it:

First, Bernath took a fresh fillet of salmon and gave it a quick sear in a hot pan, making sure it was golden brown on both sides. Once perfectly cooked, he chopped up the salmon and placed the pieces in a bowl, covering them with vodka. After letting the mixture rest for six hours (or up to three days, if you’re feeling patient), he strained out the fish, leaving behind a jar of salmon-infused vodka.

Next, it was time to bring this creation into martini territory. He added a splash (about a quarter ounce) of dry vermouth to the salmon vodka, along with 2 ½ ounces of the infused vodka. A handful of ice went in, and he gave it a good stir. The result? A smooth, slightly smoky base with a delicate salmon flavour.

But the fun didn’t stop there. Bernath added a luxurious touch by placing some salmon roe at the bottom of a chilled martini glass. After straining the infused vodka into the glass, the final product was ready for tasting.
