“Salute To All Those Involved,” Netizens React To Tamil Fishermen Who Saved 3 Dolphins Accidentally Caught In Net

Dolphins are one of the most adorable aquatic mammals! They are also endangered and hence, must be protected. Recently, fishermen from Tamil Nadu ended up accidentally catching three of these cute mammals in their fishing nets. They then had to act fast and release the dolphin back into the ocean before it was too late. A video shared on social media showed the heartwarming attempt of these Tamil fishermen to save the lives of the dolphins.

Tamil Fishermen Save The Lives Of Three Dolphins

An Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared a heartwarming video. In the video, a bunch of fishermen from the Kakaladi region in Tamil Nadu’s Ramnathapuram district were seen saving a dolphin.

According to the caption she wrote, the fishermen ended up accidentally catching three dolphins in their fishing net. In order to save the dolphins from dying, the fishermen, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Foresters dragged the mammals back into the ocean.

The officer also wrote that in order to honour this valiant effort by the fishermen, the district administration will felicitate them.

Netizens React To This Valiant Effort To Save The Dolphins

Many Netizens flocked to the comment section to laud the brave attempt by the fishermen. There were scores of comments that said that the video made them feel proud to be Indian. Many even pointed out that their attempt helped in saving the environment as well.

One user even said that watching such a heartwarming video on social media was a refreshing change from all the hate-mongering and fake news it is so frequently plagued with.

One of the major reasons why dolphins are endangered is that owing to the rapidly changing environment, their prey has become scarce. Human activities have also harmed the number of these mammals significantly.
