Jallikattu is a famous festival in Tamil Nadu which has been the subject of much debate. The festival often consists of an enraged bull being overpowered by one or more men. It is often argued that the festival should be banned because it is dangerous to both the beasts involved as well as the humans who participate in it. In a recent tragic incident, two people, one of whom was a young boy, were mauled to death by bulls after Jallikattu celebrations.
