Shaat Glass Viewpoint Attracts Over 50,000 Visitors Already
Shaat Glass Viewpoint, ever since it opened, has attracted over 50,000 people, as revealed by Muscat Daily. This is basically a new glass skywalk platform, which turns the cliff-top site in western Dhofar into an emerging tourism attraction, just in time for the Khareef season. It is situated at a height of 1,000 m above the Arabian Sea. Located on the slopes of Mount Sager, which is in the Al Qamar mountain range, this area is known for its splendid views as it stretches across green mountains and beautiful coastlines.
More About The New Glass Viewpoint
With the latest addition, the area is attracting a lot of tourists. The new glass platform measures 10 m x 12 m, which allows visitors to look down over the mountain slopes and take in the stunning view of the sea. However, wider development also includes a viewing deck, seating & resting areas, parking, pedestrian pathways, retail spaces, an open-air theatre, and a children’s play area. The platform in fact underwent a 40-tonne load test to ensure that people have a safe experience. It’s worth mentioning that the floor uses three layers of glass that have a combined thickness of 43MM.

Omani Food, Handicraft & More For Visitors
This experience, however, goes beyond the viewpoint. There are even spaces that are allocated for artisanal families that sell Omani food, perfumes, handicrafts, incense, and other local products. As a result, visitors get to spend time supporting small businesses in Rakhyut as they indulge their shopaholic souls. Talking about the viewpoint, it is about 80 km from Salalah. Situated along the road towards Rakhyut and Dhalkut, it is truly a great place for people who wish to appreciate the beauty of nature.
