The final 76-km stretch of the Samruddhi Mahamarg, connecting Mumbai to Nagpur, is now open to the public. If you’re planning to travel this route, you should know about the revised toll rates that will remain in effect until 2032. The base price will start at ₹2.45/Km for lighter motor vehicles and can go up to ₹15.84/Km for oversized vehicles.

Announced in 2015, the Samruddhi Mahamarg project aims to boost Maharashtra’s economic growth. Officially named the Hindu Hrudayasamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg, it spans 701 km with six lanes. The expressway connects Mumbai to Nagpur and significantly reduces travel time, from 15 hours to just 8. As per Times Now, the Maharashtra government has released the updated toll rates following the highway’s inauguration on June 5. These rates will be in effect until 2032.

Revised Toll Rates Of The Expressway
The newly opened section connects Igatpuri in Nashik district to Amane in Thane district. It was inaugurated on Thursday. During the event, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced further plans to extend the expressway to Vadhavan Port in Palghar. This move will not only support economic development but also improve travel convenience for commuters.
According to Times Now, the Public Works Department (PWD) released a notification on June 4 listing toll hikes in two phases: Phase 1- from April 1, 2025, to April 1, 2028 and Phase 2, with a final hike from April 2031 to 10 December 2032. Each phase is set to see a 20% toll increase across all vehicle categories. So, if you are planning to travel soon on the Mumbai-Nagpur expressway, you will need to check these updated toll charges.
Updated Per-Kilometre Toll Rates Are:
- Light motor vehicles: ₹2.45 (up from ₹2.06)
- Light commercial vehicles: ₹3.96 (up from ₹3.32)
- Two-axle heavy vehicles: ₹8.30 (up from ₹6.97)
- Three-axle heavy vehicles: ₹9.05 (up from ₹7.60)
- Heavy construction machinery: ₹13.02 (up from ₹10.93)
- Oversized vehicles : ₹15.84 (up from ₹13.30)
Updates Toll Charges For the Full 701-km Journey Are:
- Light motor vehicles: ₹1,717.45 (up from ₹1,444.06)
- Light commercial vehicles: ₹2,775.96 (up from ₹2,327.32)
- Two-axle heavy vehicles: ₹5,818.30 (up from ₹4,885.97)
- Three-axle heavy vehicles: ₹6,344.05 (up from ₹5,327.60)
- Heavy construction machinery: ₹9,127.02 (up from ₹7,661.93)
- Oversized vehicles: ₹11,103.84 (up from ₹9,323.30)
