It’s Christmas spirit at the White House. The official residence of the President is adorned with at least 98 Christmas trees, over 34,000 ornaments and 142,000 twinkling lights. The halls of the White House look no less than Santa’s new address. The extravagant decorations also include 15,000 feet of ribbon, over 350 candles and 22,000 bells. National Guard families will be the first to grace their presence at the White House to witness the beautification.

Jill Biden even announced the 2023 White House holiday theme. And it is— Magic, Wonder and Joy. She posted pictures of the grand decor at the American institution on X. In the caption, she mentions that Santa’s magical sleigh is suspended in mid-air in the Grand Foyer. A picture shows Santa’s sleigh pulled by a reindeer. The room is surrounded by small and medium-sized Christmas trees illuminated with candles and lights.

Her second post shows a working train running around the Official White House Christmas Tree. A delight for children and adults alike! There’s also a Gingerbread White House, a replica of the American institution, truly a sight to behold. This celebrates the 200th Anniversary of a childhood favourite book and poem, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas! It was published in 1823. Also, the book samples of this classic will be displayed along the ground floor corridor.
