Here’s All You Must Know About Saraswati Puja
Dedicated to Maa Saraswati, this grand festival is one of the much-awaited occasions among Hindus, especially kids and students. Schools, colleges, universities, and educational institutions celebrate the magnificent day with pomp and glory. Known as the goddess of knowledge, arts, and wisdom, Maa Saraswati is worshipped with Polash Ful, Doyaat, Khager Kolom, and Narkel Kul (Indian Jujubes) among other puja necessities.
Dates and timing of Saraswati Puja 2025:
- This year, the sacred Vasant Panchami falls on February 2.
- The auspicious muhurat starts at 7:09 AM. Continuing till 12:35 PM, this is the best time to perform rituals and worship Maa Saraswati.
- Panchami Tithi starts at 9:14 AM on February 2 and ends the next day at 6:52 AM.
- Many Bengali households will celebrate the festivities and perform the rituals on February 3 this year.
Devotees wake up early in the morning for puja arrangements. In many Bengali households, it is a common tradition to apply raw turmeric paste on the face and body before taking a bath and sitting for pujo. Male students wear fresh Punjabis while women drape sarees on this special day. It is a beautiful ritual to dress up nicely in traditional attire and visit schools and other educational institutes to seek blessings from Maa Saraswati and eat Khicuri Prasad.
Significance Of The Festival
Saraswati Puja is a marvellous and enjoyable festival for students as kids do not sit to study on this day. In fact, their parents ask them not to read or write on this day. From books to musical instruments to ghungroos, educational, inspirational, intellectual, and artistic belongings are kept at Maa Saraswati’s feet for her blessings.
