NCM Warns Of Temperature Rise In Saudi Arabia

Hussein Al Qahtani, who is the NCM spokesperson, was mentioned in a report of the Gulf News, which said that hot weather conditions are expected to persist until Friday. According to the temperature forecast, it could range anywhere between 47° to 50°C in several governorates of Eastern Province. This warning comes as millions of Muslims prepare for Eid al-Adha and the Hajj pilgrimage season.

As a result, Saudi authorities have repeatedly urged residents and pilgrims to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and extreme heat. Moreover, the kingdom has also intensified heat mitigation measures. With expanded shade areas, missing systems and emergency medical preparedness available at key pilgrimage sites, the kingdom is truly prepared.

Pilgrims Asked To Use Sun Umbrellas

In fact, previously, the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia also urged pilgrims to use sun umbrellas. Not to mention, they have been asked to follow preventive measures so that risks that are related to extreme heat during the pilgrimage season can be avoided. This development comes as Mecca and the Holy sites are forecast to reach 47°C.

UAE Temperature Forecast

In another report, the UAE temperature is expected to exceed 50°C in some parts of the country during the holiday. Yes, as revealed in a report of The National News, the NCM has asked the public to exercise caution and to limit their exposure to the sun during the day. In fact, according to the forecast, the UAE could even face the hottest day in May. As a result, the weather bureau in the country has issued safety advice on social media. Temperatures are expected to hit 52°C in Al Quaa.

So, as the temperature is soaring across the region, residents and visitors have been advised to exercise extreme caution and to be well prepared when it comes to safeguarding themselves against sunlight.
