His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan inaugurated the Plant Genetic Resources Centre established by the agency in Al Ain. He is the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi. A first of its kind in West Asia, it preserves seeds and tissues from wild plants and local plant species. And these are from across the UAE!

General Sports Authority has announced the designation of National Sports Day. This is held annually and it is in response to the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This event witnessed the announcement of the details of the first official edition of the School Games Championship. For those who aren’t aware, this is one of the projects emanating from the National Sports Strategy 2031!

Schools in the UAE are carefully planning the lessons as the plan is to finish the curriculum before the holy month of Ramadan. Not to mention, this comes after the Knowledge and Human Development Authority recently announced school timings in Dubai for Ramadan. And it should not be exceeding five hours of instruction time!

9. Schengen Visa Scam In UAE
There are scammers who are offering faster Schengen visas for a fee, and VFS Global has cautioned against them. And it’s worth mentioning that VFS Global does not charge any fee for booking appointments on its official website for visa applications. So, it’s advisable to not fall for these scams!
10. Foster + Partners To Design 2-Km Skyscraper In Riyadh
Foster + Partners was recently awarded the contract to design a 2-km skyscraper in Riyadh. As such, the unnamed tower will be located north of the kingdom’s capital as it will be located near the international airport. As it happens, Abraj Al Bait Royal Clock Tower in Mecca is currently the tallest building in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at 600 m.
