Say ‘Thank You’ And ‘Please’ To Get Discounts At This Hyderabad Restaurant

Since childhood, we have always been taught common courtesy words like “Sorry” and “Thank you” both in school and at home. But with time their usage has started fading. Dakshin-5, a boutique restaurant in Hyderabad has taken the initiative of encouraging this habit. They have come up with this idea of giving “Courtesy discounts”.

Be Polite, Earn Discounts

Dakshin-5, at Khajaguda, has put up a board announcing this sweet initiative by them. Customers can avail discounts here simply by using some courtesy words during their interaction with the staff. So one vegetarian thali costs about Rs. 165 plus taxes but when you order the same as “one thali please”, you get an Rs. 15 flat discounts. Likewise, if you greet the staff with a ‘Good afternoon’ or a ‘good day’, you can avail of additional discounts.

Bring Back Culture

AK Solanki who is one of the partners talks about bringing back the culture of using common courtesy words which has now sadly become uncommon. Another managing partner Sanjeev Kumar Blake says that the restaurant staff many times is not treated badly and this initiative focuses on changing that. This initiative is not only encouraging people to use polite words but it is also putting a smile on the faces of both customers and staff.

Elder The Better

This restaurant has also introduced another initiative called, ‘Elder The Better’. Under this initiative for the next one month, diners accompanied by an elderly person will receive a discount. This discount will be equal to the age of the most elderly person in the group. This initiative aims at encouraging more senior citizen visitors to the restaurant.
