Rick Stein and his wife, Sarah Stein, are all set to launch their third flagship restaurant in Sydney this year. Expect a diverse menu ranging from British fish and chips to Australian traditional dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. This beachfront 224-seater restaurant will also house a bar and a terrace courtyard.

The celebrated British chef Rick Stein and his wife Sarah Stein are all set to open a new restaurant in Coogee Beach, Sydney. Scheduled to launch in November 2025, this beachfront restaurant will serve all the delicacies, including his much-loved seafood, which he is quite renowned for. From the traditional British fish and chips to the locally inspired Australian favourites, diners can expect a diverse menu featuring a curated selection of dishes inspired by coastal regions, which would reflect his simple yet straightforward cooking style. 

Rick Stein’s Third Flagship Restaurant In Australia 

For readers who are not aware, this would be the celebrated chef’s third flagship restaurant. After his other NSW restaurants in Mollymook and Port Stephens. Overlooking the ocean, this new restaurant will be housed inside the Intercontinental Sydney luxury hotel. Moreover, this location also holds quite a special place, as his wife Sarah Stein grew up in the area.

A refined and relaxed space, Rick Stein’s 224-seater restaurant would be the perfect love letter to seafood and the Australian coastal beaches. The laid-back open space will feature ocean-facing tables and an abundance of natural light, along with a separate bar space perfect for drinks. This Australian restaurant will also have an expansive courtyard terrace designed for relaxing evening meals and light snacking.

On The Menu: Coastal Flavours And British Delights 

Along with the British-style fish and chips, you can expect a varied menu with traditional Australian seafood. From chilli-crabs to grilled mackerel, all the meals will reflect the simple cooking style of Rick Stein. The famous chef, who is especially known for his focus on seafood, will also be cooking up dishes inspired by coastal regions like Cornwall and Asia.

You can also expect freshly caught mahi mahi off the  Nelson Bay coast and even Stockton pipis from Port Stephens. The ingredients for the meals would be sourced freshly from the local vendors. And also the fish market in the Southern Hemisphere. Furthermore, the meals would be prepared by using the seasonal produce to preserve the rich flavour of Australian shores. Eating these appetising dishes while soaking up the sun at Coogee Beach seems like the perfect vacation idea, according to us.

Rick and Sarah Stein’s first restaurant in Sydney is not just him expanding his venture, but also a homecoming. Located in the area where is wife grew up makes it not only special but quite personal as well. Moreover, this new restaurant also gives a chance for the people of Sydney to enjoy Stein’s flavourful cooking. And that too in a place which feels both comfortable and relaxing. This restaurant will be opened in collaboration with the Australian partners, Salter Brothers of the Bannisters group.
