These superfast trains are cost-effective, reliable, and comfortable, and are often known as the non-AC alternative to high-speed trains like Vande Bharat Express. Indian Railways has recently rolled out the Amrit Bharat Express between Sealdah and New Delhi, and here’s all you need to know about it.

All About Sealdah-Delhi Amrit Bharat

According to UrbanAcres, the new Amrit Bharat train will cover about 1,454 kilometres between Sealdah and New Delhi in approximately 19 hours. It has been designed to offer affordable service and a high-quality travel experience. It is placed in the semi-premium, non-AC category of train services that are tailored to meet the rising demand for pocket-friendly, intercity mobility across India.

The train numbers will be 22325 (Sealdah to New Delhi) and 22326 (New Delhi to Sealdah). It is equipped with LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) push-pull coaches. Reports suggest that these offer greater safety and stability at higher speeds and also ensure a smoother ride on long-haul journeys.

Railway experts believe that Sealdah-Delhi Amrit Bharat offers a bridge between premium luxury services and overcrowded conventional trains to the passengers. It is time efficient, offers a reduced energy footprint, and has cost-accessible fares as well.

Features, Top Speed & Fare

The coaches on the Sealdah-Delhi Amrit Bharat are non-air-conditioned. They are, however, ergonomically designed and fitted with mobile charging points, improved ventilation, bio-toilets, and LED lighting. The train has a maximum speed capacity of 130 km/h. The average operational speed is around 50 km/h due to multiple halts.

Reports suggest that the Sealdah to New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express train has Sleeper Class and General Class coaches. To travel in Sleeper Class coaches, the ticket price is about ₹700. As for the General Class, it is priced less than ₹600.

Train’s Schedule, Frequency & Stops

The Sealdah to Delhi Amrit Bharat Express is currently operating bi-weekly. It is scheduled for departures from Sealdah on Mondays and Thursdays. As for the return journey, it will depart from New Delhi on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The train will depart from Sealdah at around 1:30 PM to reach New Delhi at around 8 AM. On the return journey, the Amrit Bharat Express will begin its journey at around 3 PM and arrive in Sealdah at around 10 AM.

The train will cover all densely populated belts and stations on the route. It aims to create better access between Eastern India and Delhi. Here are the scheduled stops on this train service –
