The FILTR Martini is a tribute to the cherished Kaapi ritual found in Udupi darshinis, where the art of crafting the perfect filter coffee is a celebrated tradition. This cocktail captures the spirit of South India like no other—a method as precise as measuring froth heights and throw lengths. Imagine this: you start with a classic Espresso Martini base but with a twist that will ignite your palate.
The FILTR Martini’s unique blend of speciality coffee and Stranger & Sons gin makes it stand out. When you shake the bottle with ice, you’re not just mixing ingredients; you’re creating an experience that results in a rich, frothy layer reminiscent of the frothy milk atop a traditional South Indian coffee. The FILTR Martini comes with a vanilla garnish spray to elevate this masterpiece even further.
The Best Of Coffee And Cocktails
“We’ve always been serious about cocktails. Our past innovations have been testaments to the same,” says Rahul Mehra, CEO and Co-Founder of Third Eye Distillery. Rahul Reddy, Founder of Subko Coffee, echoes this sentiment, stating, “We have been quite elated to have the privilege of transforming and coalescing 3 worlds together with the ‘Filtr’ project.”
Rachna Srivastava, Managing Editor, Curly Tales India and Middle East, tried the new creation first-hand. She says, “Coffee and gin, two of my favourites! What’s not to like? The taste is not a shocker because Espresso Martini has been around for a while. But filter coffee and gin, well that is a surprise! It sits well on the palate. It is slightly on the sweeter side for me. But nonetheless, it is a cocktail in a bottle and I am a taker! It pairs well with South Indian fusion food and it was truly lovely. After months of trials, they have perfected the blend. Wishfully thinking they would have a sugar-free blend soon! The present one is balanced well and is truly an Indianised version of the espresso martini”.
In a cocktail landscape often dominated by the familiar, the FILTR Martini offers something fresh, exciting, and distinctly Indian. So, shake it well, enjoy that coveted frothy layer, and let the FILTR Martini transport you to Udupi.
