Soon after UAE announced a four-and-a-half-day workweek, Sharjah announced a 3-day weekend from January 1, 2022. Sharjah will follow a four-day workweek with weekend offs on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. What’s more, Sharjah Government employees will work from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm on weekdays effective from January 1, 2022. Unlike UAE, employees will have a full day off on Fridays.

Sharjah Earlier Announced Work From Home For Government Employees
Covid cases in the UAE were on the rise, to prevent the further spread of the virus, authorities in Sharjah had announced remote working for all government employees starting February 14. The decision was announced by Sharjah Department of Human Resources.

Social Distancing And Other Covid Rules Must Be Followed At Work Place
If the employees continue to work from the office, they must be seated at least two metres apart. If remote working is not possible for departments, then the heads have to introduce shift system, which ensures that only 50 per cent of the total number of employees at any given time.
