A series of major appointments were made in a meeting on Wednesday, which saw HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announce the appointment of his son, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the new Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. At this point, it is worth noting that Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the eldest son of the President. According to a report by Hindustan Times, he also named his other brothers HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan and HH Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the Deputy Rulers of Abu Dhabi. It is worth noting that HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and the President of the UAE in May 2022, after the death of his half-brother, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed. Did you know the president is popularly known by his initials MBZ? Yes, this is hardly surprising as there was reshuffling in Abu Dhabi previously, at the two of the biggest state funds.
This news has certainly taken the country by storm and the appointments are trending everywhere on social media. While official images from the meeting are yet to be released, people are certainly curious about the changes that they can expect in the coming days.
