There is a new museum in Shindagha and it’s just where you must head if you want a good dose of UAE’s rich culture and heritage!

What’s It?

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority is all set to showcase the Emirati culture and heritage in a whole new level. Situated in the iconic Dubai Creek, the Shindagha museum was developed as an initiative to transform the creek into a cultural learning centre.

Step in to soak in UAE’s history! The museum has a welcome centre where visitors will receive orientation and wayfinding information. Once you make your way through this, the museum splits into various sections including Creativity and Well Being, Governance and Society, and Living off the Land and Sea. As the name suggests, each of these sections delve into various subjects ranging from arts to Dubai’s royalty, traditional food, and more.

And there’s something for kids too! The Children’s Discovery house replicates themes from other sections of the house in a child-friendly way for the early learners. The museum’s community hall, heritage community centre, and performance centre are reserved for local and regional performances, bringing to life the passion for arts among Emiratis.

What Else?

The museum has a sophisticated ticketing and retail system which means you are off to a smooth and hassle-free start with no excessive queuing.
