In some good news for people in Maharashtra, the proposed expressway connecting Aurangabad to Pune has received a nod of approval from the authorities. The new expressway will be 225 kilometres long and will significantly cut down travel time between Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) and Nagpur. So much so that the travel time between Pune and Aurangabad will reduce to just two hours, from the current five hours. The travel time between Pune and Nagpur will also be cut down to just four and a half hours from the current ten and a half hours! Read on to know more about this new expressway.
New Expressway Between Pune & Aurangabad To Improve Connectivity
The Union Ministry has given their approval for a new expressway connecting Aurangabad to Pune in Maharashtra. After 22 months of deliberation, this new expressway got the go-ahead from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). It is reported that this new expressway will be built under the build-operate-transfer framework. The Maharashtra Infrastructure Corporation will be executing the construction of this expressway. They will receive a massive loan of ₹3 billion from HUDCO (Housing and Urban Development Corporation) for the same.
As per reports, this new expressway will be 225 kilometres long and will help reduce travel time between Pune and Aurangabad. It will, reportedly, cut short travel time from the current 5 hours to just 2 hours between the two cities. Furthermore, it will smoothen transportation and boost economic activities in this corridor.

Travel Time From Pune To Nagpur To Reduce To Just 4.5 Hours
This expressway between Pune and Aurangabad will also improve regional connectivity. It is likely to reduce travel time from Nagpur to Jalna Samruddhi Mahamarg and onward to Pune from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. As per reports, this expressway will reduce travel time between Pune and Nagpur to just four and a half hours. It currently takes over ten and a half hours to cover the distance between the two cities.
Streamlining transportation for commercial and commuter use, this expressway between Pune and Aurangabad will improve connectivity in the area.
