Travellers who were impacted expressed their dissatisfaction on social media platform X, emphasising the lack of advance notice and the subsequent confusion at the airport. A passenger raised an inquiry on the airline’s potential liability for the whole cost of their vacation packages, highlighting the potential financial consequences of the last-minute cancellation. The people who were left stranded bemoaned the inconvenience of their travel arrangements, pointing out that they had to forgo expenses for hotels and a paid jungle trip.
Passengers were allegedly informed by Sri Lankan Airlines employees that there were no other options available, despite the complaints made on social media. The tourists who were impacted immediately sought help and asked for aid in arranging substitute flights, recommending airlines such as SpiceJet or IndiGo as potential options.

IndiGo Also Cancelled Its Flight
Such an occurrence has happened at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport before. On the other hand, the impacted travellers were rescheduled for an early morning flight the next day.
In particular, there were delays on aircraft 6E 922 was initially supposed to take off from RGIA at 9:15 p.m. And land at Bhubaneshwar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport at 10:45 p.m. At first, there was a delay notice on the gate’s information board, which moved the departure time to 10 p.m. The pilot did, however, later inform the passengers that the weather was bad and they should disembark. Notably, there have previously been delays for this same flight at the Hyderabad airport.
