SriLankan Airlines Abruptly Cancelled Colombo Flight Leaving Passengers Stranded!

The Hyderabad to Colombo flight operated by Sri Lankan Airlines was cancelled, leaving over fifty people stranded at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). According to reports, the airline neglected to notify customers beforehand, which irritated and inconvenienced them.

Travellers who were impacted expressed their dissatisfaction on social media platform X, emphasising the lack of advance notice and the subsequent confusion at the airport. When they arrived at the airport and heard of the cancellation, passengers aboard flight UL178 were taken aback. In a video that went viral on X, RGIA employees were seen to be ignorant of the circumstances and to have offered no help or other options.

A passenger raised an inquiry on the airline’s potential liability for the whole cost of their vacation packages, highlighting the potential financial consequences of the last-minute cancellation. The people who were left stranded bemoaned the inconvenience of their travel arrangements, pointing out that they had to forgo expenses for hotels and a paid jungle trip.

Passengers were allegedly informed by Sri Lankan Airlines employees that there were no other options available, despite the complaints made on social media. The tourists who were impacted immediately sought help and asked for aid in arranging substitute flights, recommending airlines such as SpiceJet or IndiGo as potential options.
