Disney Consumer Products, Lucasfilm, and the Empire State Building have revealed a Star Wars-themed takeover at the iconic New York building and it’s a treat for all the franchise fans! Earlier this morning, actor Hayden Christensen kicked off the ‘March to May the 4th’ campaign at the building and even participated in a morning lighting ceremony. Star Wars Take Over The Empire State Building!

Lord Vader has taken over the empire. Or well, the Empire State Building in New York till April 29! Earlier this morning, the Galactic Empire took charge at the Empire State Building as part of Star Wars ‘March to May the 4th’ campaign. This is a treat for all the franchise fans who won’t have to wait till May 4th to celebrate their favourite day.
Actor Hayden Christensen, who plays Darth Vader in the series, led the takeover and did the ceremonial lighting ceremony to flag off this almost month-long campaign. Fans will find multiple movie-themed displays around the building, new products, movie screenings, and light shows inspired by the franchise during this campaign.

Talking about the takeover, president of the Empire State Building Observatory, Jean-Yves Ghazi said, “We are so pleased to unite Star Wars fans in New York City and throughout the world with this epic trip to a galaxy far, far away…This one-of-a-kind takeover at the ‘World’s Most Famous Building’ allows fans to come face to face with pop culture’s most iconic villains in an authentic New York City way.”

‘March to May the 4th’ Campaign & What Fans Can Look Out For

The Empire State Building took to Instagram to officially launch the ‘March to May the 4th’ campaign. Many excited fans quoted the movie and commented, “Empire Strikes Back!” on the series of posts on Instagram. As per the schedule shared about the immersive experiences that await fans here, there will be a dynamic light show on the evening of March 22. It will feature iconic Star Wars scenes from 8 PM (US time) till 11 PM.

They will also host the screening of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back on the 80th Floor on March 22 at the Empire State Building Observatory. Fans can also check out the life-size, LEGO displays of Star Wars villains on the building’s 80th Floor. There will also be a franchise-themed photo display on the 86th floor where one can click pictures in a Star Wars-themed background.
