Starbucks Gets Roasted By Netizens For Wasting Perfectly Good Food & Supplies

Ever since we were young, we’ve heard our parents and elders chiding us for wasting food. That food is a luxury not everyone can afford is something we’re taught from a very young age. Hence, when wastage occurs, it triggers a deep-seated reaction that often leaves us seething. A Starbucks outlet recently caught heat for wasting perfectly good supplies and food. Here is what happened when Anna Sacks, a local New Yorker, came across its wastage.

Starbucks Gets Roasted For Wasting Food & Supplies

Wasteage is a huge no-no, especially in Indian culture. It is always taught to us to never waste food especially when there are people who do not get to eat at all. Anna Sacks, who is known on social media for rifling through the garbage dumps of New York and revealing its wastage, came across what was an erstwhile Starbucks.

This particular person took to her Instagram account and posted a video of all the food she found in the garbage bags near the recently-closed Starbucks. There were all kinds of food items that were untouched! From croissants and burger buns to egg dishes and other bites, it had everything!

If it wasn’t for Anna Sacks who got there in the nick of time, all of this food would have gone to waste. What was even more upsetting is that there were hoards of cups that were unused and tossed in the bin!

Netizens Get Upset

At a time when climate change is peaking and scientists are begging us to curb plastic waste, seeing hoards of unused Starbucks plastic cups thrown in the garbage truly seems dystopic. People on the Internet, too, were extremely upset to witness this.

Many tagged the multi-national food and beverage conglomerate in their comments asking them to do better. Many suggested that instead of throwing all of this usable and edible stuff out, they could’ve donated it to shelters.

Considering that many items hadn’t neared their expiration date, to callously toss them out seems truly sad and excessive.
