On Tuesday evening, tremors were felt across many places in North India. This happened after a strong earthquake of 6.6 magnitude on the Richter scale was felt in Afghanistan. The depth of the earthquake was 156 Km. As the earthquake was very strong, the tremors were felt at long distances. This is why places in India’s north like Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi-NCR felt such strong tremors.
Earthquake Tremors In North India
The earthquake struck northern Afghanistan, and the tremors were felt in Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, India, China, and Kyrgyzstan. People rushed out of their homes to open spaces in the evening as they felt strong tremors in Delhi NCR, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and other northern parts.
Mobile services were disrupted as the tremors were felt in Jammu. Lucknow too felt tremors for a few seconds. The buildings were shaking, leading people to leave their homes in panic. No loss of property or life has been noted by far.
People were seen gathering around at public parks, parks of their buildings, open grounds and other open spaces. The epicentre of this earthquake was actually found in Pakistan. Today earthquake with a 7.7 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Pakistan, while the epicentre was found 90km away from Afghanistan.

People also were seen sharing concerns on the platform for others and especially people in Afghanistan. Some people were seen sharing knowledge on how the tremors could be felt so far.
