But while we continue to live this new reality, many fear that returning back might not be so easy as it sounds. A survey has revealed that 93% of Indian employees are stressed about returning back to office post lockdown. What Does The Survey State?
A health-tech community product, FYI, undertook the survey conducted by MindMap Advance Research with 560 India Inc. entities, including employees from across small, medium, and large enterprises in major metro cities of Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Of these employees, 85 percent were male and 15 percent were female.
Their research shows that 93 percent of the Indian employees are anxious to return to the office when the lockdown finally gets over. Another 85 percent expect their office spaces to be completely sanitized before they return to work.
This data showed 59 percent of employees are concerned about their health, 25 percent are anxious about the financial situation, 16 percent fear that the crisis will get prolonged. “It may be an understatement to say that the COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the way we live and work. This event has very quickly served as a tipping point to unprecedented change in the mindset and attitudes of people, to both life and work. Our survey informs India Inc. of the new priorities they would need to juggle when it comes to the health and safety of their employees,” Yeishan Goel, cofounder, FYI, which undertook this survey in the last week of April 2020 told TOI.

Why Are Indian Employees Stressed?
The survey said that “India Inc. employees are clearly stressed on the account of their health, and that needs to be managed on priority.” Yeishan Goel, co-founder of FYI said that happier and secure employees are more productive than those under stress. According to the report, 99 percent of employees said that they would like a system similar to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), like Corporate Health Responsibility (CHR) made mandatory for the employers. These expectations among employees are based on the fact that employers must undertake everyone’s health as their priority. At least 82 percent of employees agreed to participate in measures that require them to be monitored, while 18 percent said that they would comply if the privacy of their data is assured.
