Sushi Kirimon Restaurant Serves World’s Most Expensive Sushi Costing ₹2 Lakhs
Sushi Kirimon, a restaurant in Osaka, Japan, prepared and served the ‘Kiwami Omakase’ course. This entire dish, costing ₹2 lakhs, featured 20 pieces of sushi. And it broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s most expensive sushi. According to the Guinness World Record website, this unique sushi is meticulously crafted with ingredients sourced from all over Japan. Expert chefs have then curated this dish with the use of traditional techniques.
Sushi Kirimon wishes to celebrate Washoku, which UNESCO is a term that reflects the traditional dietary cultures of the Japanese. This course for one costs ₹2 lakhs, as it has 5 nigiri pieces topped with diamonds and wrapped in a 24-karat gold piece. Some of the ingredients on the sushi platter like black truffles are sourced from Italy and matsutake mushrooms are brought in from China. There’s also whale meat sourced from the North Atlantic Ocean.

This record-breaking sushi course, “Kiwami Omakase” features 20 beautifully curated pieces of sushi. This includes sashimi and nigiri. This record-breaking sushi course consists of a variety of seafood like Japanese tiger prawn, sea urchins, chum salmon, Pacific bluefin tuna and many others.

Once the pieces are adorned on the plate, a gold leaf is added to enhance its beauty and give it a luxurious spin.
