Every day, we hear a new story about delivery agents on social media. Some are heartwarming, others a little triggering. This time, however, we are thoroughly impressed with the delivery guy! A Bengaluru man shared how a Swiggy delivery agent slipped him a card from his pest control service business while making a delivery. Here’s what the internet has to say about it.
Swiggy Agent Hands Out Pest Control Service Card To Potential Client
Swiggy delivery guy handed me a card for his pest control services. He was using the gig to deliver ads to potential clients. Pretty slick idea I must say 😂

Bengaluru-based Navneet Nair took (@navneetdesigns) to X (formerly Twitter) to share how a Swiggy delivery agent handed out a “card for his pest control services” while making the delivery. Navneet concluded that the man was using the Swiggy gig to deliver ads to potential clients. He felt it was a “pretty slick idea” to promote his business.
Hi Navneet! We get your point. Could you please share the order ID so that we may have a word with him?

Surprisingly, although not tagged, Swiggy replied to the post and asked Navneet to share the order ID, so that they could have a word with the agent. To this, the customer replied, “Please let him earn a few extra bucks. I don’t hold anything against it but rather applaud his thinking.”
Swiggy also replied and said, “We value smart and proactive team members, and we get your intent in appreciating the idea, it’s great to see such enthusiasm. While this won’t have any serious consequences, we do want to gently remind him that this action is not in line with our established work and disciplinary policies.”
Netizens React To This Business Idea
Just like us, the internet was impressed with the Swiggy delivery guy’s incredible business idea! Many people also shared their experiences when they encountered a similar situation with a deliveryman. Others applauded the man for his thinking and for utilising the set-up to enhance his business. A lot of people in the comments also requested that Swiggy not take any action against the man and let him continue his endeavour.
Swiggy, let it be. Life’s already tough for many people. People out there are hardly able to make both ends meet. Let him do some side hustle. There’s nothing wrong in it. I Appreciate the rad idea though.

Had an auto-driver tell me about his valuation advisory services after checking my Linkedin based on my truecaller name. He was like “You’re a CA, but you’re running a tech company”? I was both creeped out and impressed at the sametime

Met similar hustler via blinkit who was promoting his freelance graphic and related gig along with delivering orders.

By the way, several of these apps use GPS tracking to catch such behaviour eg if a rider visits your location without an order, it gets flagged by the system. This is to prevent gig workers from freelancing e.g. electricians, plumbers, beauticians + such “enterprising” chaps.

One delivery guy from a similar platform once gave me a movers and packers card. I happily kept it. Another delivery guy from a well known e-commerce platform offers dry cleaning in our society. Smart side hustle.
