Food delivery giant Swiggy has taken a spooktacular turn with their order tracking app. They’ve ditched the usual image of a Swiggy delivery rider on a scooter and replaced it with a ghostly figure chasing after the delivery person! This unexpected change has sent social media into a frenzy, with customers offering a hilarious mix of confusion and amusement.

The screenshot, originating from Pune and shared by digital creator Sanil, shows the order arriving in nine minutes – on time, but with a chilling twist. The delivery person is depicted racing against a dark, spectral figure, presumably in a desperate bid to deliver the food piping hot. Since being shared on July 11, the image has garnered nearly 2,000 likes and continues to gain traction online.

One user, clearly a fan of the popular mobile game, commented, “Delivery partner is playing Temple Run!” Another, initially startled by the image, shared a screenshot with the caption, “What design is this, Swiggy? I thought my delivery guy had an accident!”

Witty Reactions From Netizens

The comments section overflowed with witty reactions. One user playfully remarked, “Delivery boy Temple Run khel raha hai [Delivery boy is playing Temple Run],” while another, catching on to the intended humour, wrote, “I thought my delivery guy was being chased by a ghost which was the intention, apparently.” Another user commented, “This is Swiggy and Zomato in a race. Zomato works in the shadows.”

A third user took a more literal approach, commenting, “The delivery guy looks haunted by a ghost.” A fourth user, perhaps more spiritually inclined, joked, “I thought they had a ghost chasing after the delivery guy. I was ready with Hanuman Chalisa when he came for delivery.” This comment playfully references a Hindu devotional chant believed to ward off evil spirits.

Not everyone was a fan of the change. A fifth user, identified only as an “X user,” expressed confusion, stating, “Lol, seriously! I was thinking the same yesterday! Thought the rider fell down! Earlier one, man on the bike, was just right. Swiggy Cares, why this?! ” One user even came up with an explanation, “ That is one Rakshas chasing Swiggy … Rakshas here is symbolic .. it signifies that Swiggy is chasing the delivery boy to ensure he reaches in time.”
