Switzerland Is Now Home To World’s Longest Passenger Train With 100 Coaches Passing Through Stunning Swiss Alps

The Rhaetian Railway ( Rhätische Bahn) company of Switzerland achieved a world record recently by running the longest passenger train in the world. The red-hued train with 100 coaches ran for a length of 1.9 kilometres from Preda to Bergun through the Albula/Bernina route, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008.

The Swiss rail company achieved the commendable feat to commemorate the 175th anniversary of Swiss Railways.

Switzerland Ran The World’s Longest Passenger Train Through The Scenic Alps

The longest passenger train in the world winded through the postcard-perfect Swiss Alps recently, traversing 22 tunnels and 48 bridges. The iconic Landwasser Viaduct also falls on the route. Also, the incredible journey had over 3000 spectators. Those who love train journeys bought tickets to watch the journey on the gigantic screen near Bergun. The train comprises four engines and 100 coaches. The best part is that it covered the entire journey in the span of just an hour. After the journey ended, Rhaetian Railway announced that it has broken the Guinness World Record for running the world’s longest passenger train.
