This Asian nation is taking significant steps to welcome more tourists and give a major boost to the tourist sector. Singapore has several plans to welcome more than 1.5 million travellers from India in 2024 and the concerned departments have started to take steps to achieve the goal this year. Their primary aim is to go beyond the pre-pandemic numbers of tourists. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the travel and tourism sectors harshly and now Singapore is ready to revive the figures more than the pre-pandemic years.

According to a report by The Economic Times, the country will be relaxing the visa rules for Indian tourists. The Singapore Tourism Board is currently taking all the necessary steps to facilitate easy and convenient visa rules for travellers. This, in return, is going to offer seamless travel experiences. The country has surely recognised the strong potential of the Indian market and hence, everyone is working to use this massive potential to welcome more Indians.

There are two offices in Delhi and Mumbai. Singapore Tourism is currently in the process of boosting the country as a perfect holiday place in India, Poh Chi Chuan, Executive Director of Exhibitions & Conferences stated, according to the Singapore Tourism Board. In addition to this, Singapore is also enhancing the hospitality sector with thousands of hotels. About 9,000 new hotel rooms are getting added along with the previous 72,000 ones.

Indians Seem To Love Exploring This Nation!

The number of Indian visitors heading to Singapore clearly shows how many globetrotters love travelling there. In 2019, the country welcomed about 1.4 million Indian travellers. The number saw a dip in 2023 with 1.1 million tourists from India. A significant reason behind the decrease is the coronavirus-related travel restrictions, issues, and fear among all.
