Tejasswi Prakash Gives MasterChef Classes On How To Make Bhakri

During a special Sunday Brunch, Tejasswi Prakash prepared a Gudi Padwa-special meal for us. For some last-minute prep, we joined her in the kitchen to see her in her element in the kitchen! While we were there, Tejasswi taught us how to make bhakri, the famous Maharashtrian round flatbread made with rice flour.

Taking equal quantities of rice flour and water, she let the water boil in a saucer pan till it came to a boil. Then, she added the flour, with a pinch of salt, and whisked it together. Turning off the heat, she put a lid on the pan and let the doubt rest for 5 minutes. Transfer the dough to a bigger plate and while it’s still hot, knead it well.

Tejasswi Prakash then taught us how she prepared the bhakri. First off, she took a small portion of the dough to form a ball and covered the remaining with a wet mulmul cloth. She then proceeded to make bhakri as one would make a roti! Kamiya was so inspired by her that she also made a few bhakris. Tejasswi was so impressed with her that she couldn’t believe it was her first time making the dish!

The meal included dishes like Valachi Bhaji, Shrikhand Puri, Kothimbir Vadi, Masale Bhaat, Bhakri, Koshimbir salad, Bhoplyache Gharge, Suranache Kaap, and Shrikhand.
