Unveils Model Y SUV
According to Hindustan Times, Tesla will enter the Indian market with the launch of its Model Y electric vehicle. The EV car will be priced around ₹60 lakh (approximately $70,000). At the Mumbai showroom, Tesla will offer two versions of the Model Y– the rear-wheel drive model and the long-range variant. The latter will be priced at ₹67.8 lakh ($79,000).
It’s worth noting that these prices are significantly higher than those in other Tesla markets. For reference, the same vehicle starts at ₹38.6 lakh in the US, ₹30.5 lakh in China, and ₹46 lakh in Germany. This sharp disparity is primarily due to India’s steep import duties.
