It is famous for exporting huge quantities of fiery hot chili worldwide. So, you cannot skip this district of Andhra Pradesh.

1. Buddha Museum of Guntur

It is a popular museum which you should visit once. Your experience here will be a magnificent one if you are a follower of Lord Buddha. You will be immersed in the great teachings and lively ambiance of Buddhism. There are traces of Buddhism from its earliest preachers to how it expanded in India. There are some ancient artifacts, relics, and mentions of their historical place, Buddhist saints, coins, utensils, clothes, and more. What’s more, there is a small art gallery displaying ancient Buddhist paintings.

2. Amareswara Temple

A popular shrine for Lord Shiva where worshippers come from all over India to take his blessings. This temple is also named Pancharama Kshetras of Lord Shiva. Right in front of this temple, the Krishna River flows and ancient stories talk about how Lord Indra was the one who established a great Shiva Lingam.

3. Suryalanka Beach

How can we miss out on the beach when in Andhra Pradesh? This is located in Guntur and is popular for its pretty views, smashing sunsets, lush natural beauty and stretches of beautiful golden sand along with clear waters. You will be mesmerised by the lush green hills and coconut groves covering a larger part of this beach. The Suryalanka Beach Resort has a history; it was a rest house made by the British for its officers which got converted into a hotel.

Chase around these waterfalls as they are picturesque and alluring. The waterfall is about 70 feet in height and the gushing waters going down the terrain is quite a calming scene. This space has dense greenery, thus it is a go-to place for many tourists and locals of Guntur. Also, the nearby areas of the hills are great for trekking.

5. Sri Bhramaramba Malleswara Swamy Temple

Built during the rule of King Krishnadevaraya of Vijayanagara, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a religious place where many different stories are linked. One of the local beliefs is regarding a well located at the end of the temple. It follows that Bharadwaj filled the well by collecting water from all of the holy rivers of India. It is about 10 kms away from Guntur.

6. Uppalapadu Bird Sanctuary

Another famous local attraction, almost 10 kms away from Guntur is the Uppalapadu Bird Sanctuary. If you are a nature lover and enjoy bird watching, then head over to this spot. It houses a wide variety of birds and if you plan to visit during the migratory season (which is around September and February) then be ready to get a glimpse of migratory flocks. Some of the birds spotted here are White Ibis, Open-Billed Storks, Painted Storks, and Spot-Billed Pelicans among the bunch. A plus point the Sanctuary has a canteen, so munch and enjoy the views.
