With the advancement of technology and revolution in the quick e-commerce industry, online shopping has never been easier. We can order our essentials at any time of the day and get them delivered in just a few minutes. However, the fast-paced delivery system comes with its cons too. Consumers often get scammed, and receiving bad-quality products is a major issue. Recently, a Zepto customer in Delhi did not receive her order and had a poor experience while chatting with the chat support.
Zepto Delivery Guy Scammed A Customer
Taking to Reddit, u/Mystery3nds shared about a miserable shopping experience with this online grocery delivery app.
The OP shared an elaborate post claiming that Zepto scammed their sister. According to the online post, the customer allegedly did not receive her products but the order was marked “delivered” on the Zepto mobile app. They attempted to contact the delivery agent and called him. Unfortunately, he did not pick up the call. His wife received it and said that he left his mobile at home. They could not connect directly with the delivery guy regarding this issue.
This Zepto customer placed an order for one 500g packet of Daily Good Unpolished Masoor Dal, one 415 g unit of McCain Smiles Crispy Happy Potatoes, two units of Rajdhani Chana Kabuli, one packet of Daily Good Unpolished Rajma, one packet of Daily Good Unpolished Masoor Black Whole, and 100 g of Amul Salted Butter. The bill totalled ₹510.87 including GST. With a handling charge of ₹9.99 and a processing fee of ₹1.99, the overall bill was ₹522.85.
Though the app displayed the order status as delivered, the Redditor’s sister did not receive any product. Despite contacting Zepto’s chat support and texting multiple times, they did not receive a necessary solution to resolve this major issue.
The Delivery Company Refused To Pay A Refund
Zepto’s chat support sincerely apologised for the inconvenience caused. They responded to the complaint stating that they had thoroughly reviewed the customer’s concern internally and concluded that the right products were shipped from the delivery hub.
The order was sealed when Zepto’s delivery partner delivered it. Due to these findings, Zepto did not issue a refund. Though the chat support mentioned processing the refund to the original source, they refused it later.
